Material Needs Grants support the expenses of supplies and materials for the creation of new art in Worcester County. This year’s Material Needs exhibition features replica jerseys of athletes that had their careers cut short due to career-ending injuries, portrait assemblages of loved ones lost to suicide in collaboration with the subjects’ families, mechanically-rotating mixed-media encaustic paintings, and more. Since they were first awarded twelve years ago, one-hundred and two artists have had their work advanced by these grants.
When exhibitions are on view, gallery hours run Wednesday through Sunday, 12:00PM—5:00PM, free and open to the public. Please visit artsworcester.org for updates.
